35th Anniversary Edition on Indie Exclusive Transparent Orange Vinyl LP

Originally released in April 1988, Tracy Chapman has long been unavailable on vinyl. This anniversary reissue has been prepared for release by Chapman and the album’s original producer, David Kershenbaum. Featuring the classic singles “Fast Car,” “Talkin’ Bout A Revolution” and “Baby Can I Hold You,” the album earned three Grammys and went on to become one of the most successful debuts of all time.

Recorded at the Powertrax Studio in Hollywood, California, the album was recorded in eight weeks at the end of 1987. Composed of 11 tracks, the album was praised by music critics as a return to simplicity in the purest folk tradition. It was a huge commercial success in many countries, including the UK, France and Germany, following the worldwide broadcast of the Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute. It peaked at #1 on the US Billboard 200 and was certified six times platinum by the RIAA.

This edition is pressed on 180-gram vinyl and sourced from an analogue master. The album package includes an insert of translated lyrics, which accompanied the original international release.

Releasing: 4/4/25

Note: If you want other items in your order shipped immediately, please place preorders separately. If you choose local pick-up, the album will be available on the date of release.
