Cure — Songs Of A Lost World
180-Gram BioVinyl Ecopak
Songs Of A Lost World is the long-awaited new album from The Cure, their 14th studio release and their first in 16 years. Songs from the record were previewed during the band’s 90-date, 33-country “Shows Of A Lost World” tour. Speaking about “Alone,” the opening track on the album, Robert Smith says, “It’s the track that unlocked the record; as soon as we had that piece of music recorded, I knew it was the opening song and I felt the whole album come into focus … that was the moment when I knew the song — and the album — were real.”
Songs Of A Lost World was written and arranged by Smith, and produced and mixed by Smith & Paul Corkett. The album was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales, UK, and mastered by Brian Lucey and Bernie Grundman.
Smith created the sleeve concept and Andy Vella, a longtime Cure collaborator, handled the album’s art and design. The cover art features “Bagatelle,” a 1975 sculpture by Janez Pirnat.
“The Cure deliver the power-doom epic we’ve been waiting for … On Songs Of A Lost World, Robert Smith reaches into the depths of his cobwebbed heart; it’s the best Cure album since Disintegration.” (Rolling Stone)
