The follow-up to 2009’s Crack The Skye was recorded in the band’s hometown of Atlanta as well as in Los Angeles with producer Mike Elizondo. As with all of their albums, Mastodon took a completely different tack and musical approach. The album debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200, and the song “Curl Of The Burl” was nominated for a 2012 Grammy for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance.
